Hey y'all,

So on the page where the main site guide lists cutters, only hydraulic ones are listed.

Currently we're inexperienced and looking into getting one, and electric ones seem to be significantly cheaper. We don't know what the differences would be practically though. The following are the types of options we have:

Happy to hear thoughts and additional considerations. The seller listed on this website has additional options but I'm just leaving it at this.

First off, as a disclaimer, I don't have any experience with the kind of electrics you posted links to. I only have experience with various hydraulics and manuals. With that said, those "cheap" electrics you posted links to are not what I'd consider cheap. Where I live, a used hydraulic cutter from a top brand costs about $750-$1500 USD (maybe less) and is built to last 30+ years of heavy use.

Hopefully someone else can chime in who has some experience with electrics. The pics and specs do remind me of a cutter that I saw at some friends' shop...

Thanks. yeah the "cheap" just meant relative to the hydraulic options. I assume the stuff doesn't get made here (so it's probably more expensive because of import taxes) and there isn't much of a reading culture so there aren't second hand ones floating around anywhere.
